WE HAVE ARRIVED

Well, it has happened. velocache.net is now a fully operational battle station. Prepare yourselves.

Before I digress, which I am known to do, let me start off by giving some credit and handing out some thanks. This would not have happened without you all. You know who you are. Thank you. The new site would not be in existance without Buttars, if you run into him, give him a hug and buy him a beer. HUGE thank yous to the veterans out there who have kept this afloat in times of trouble and triumph...I have personal things to say to you that will have to wait until we have a face to face.

At the pokercache party on September 19 I would really like to take a bit of all of your time and preach a little about "the game". We'll see, I will probably just get drunk and cry a lot.

SO. Go to the site. Familiarize yourself. It is different than the one we play on now but can do all of the things we do now AND MUCH MUCH MORE. You will need to create an account. It is free and always will be for players. I realize some of you have already been in and have looked around but it is time for everyone to come on board. Texting from a phone to the site works. E-mailing too. There is a great forum feature that we can all cache ourselves in as well. This site is still in beta. It is not finished so now is the time to see if we can break it.

For now, play around. Posting "real" caches is not off limits but I think it might serve us better to get really comfortable with the new toy before we go "live". Post pictures of your cats and dogs. Go to the forum and talk about bikes. Have fun.

LOVE to you all. -A. Mortician

ch, ch, ch, changes....

Put a score board up last night, ( it's on the right, way down there). Don't like it very much. Sincerely didn't like tallying up all that stuff. Soooooooo, here's my thoughts: 1. the numbers end up being wacko because there have been times when one or more players hide/find a cache. that is OK, teams are good. that brings up 2. we don't always know who was involved with the hide/find other than the posters name, for example Ralphie's numbers look weird right now because I don't exactly know what he was involved with. 3. I don't know what 3 is I have been up all night plying the dismal trade.

Suggestions? Solutions? Who cares?

One thing I would like you to do is simply comment here and give me your hard numbers as you see them.( My chicken-scratching notes last night sucked for the final tally and that is part of the problem here. ) We will trust your numbers and input them accordingly and see how that goes.

Second thing, as some of you know, their are bikes gangs involved in this joint. If  y'all wanna post all your deployment/finds under one gang name, you might want to call a quorum and see if that's how you wanna roll. Bikes & Rec will definitely NOT be playing that way. Sore Bloke and I hate each other too much to work together as a team.

Other talking points include the new and improved "TIPS, TRICKS AND FAQ" section. It's getting bigger and has it's own link on the sidebar.

One more thing. Please look at Rule #3.  NO ZOOMING. This has not been much of problem but keep it in mind.

That is all. Have a radical Thursday.

  1. you should try and make the score board go from who has found the most to the least.

  2. Rethinking my earlier opinion. I don't think there needs to be a tally, we can just keep track of our own scores.

  3. I just don't like it because it's ugly

  4. Don't forget to add DoucheBag and his gang to your list. I'm better at deploy then find always just a little late.
