WE HAVE ARRIVED

Well, it has happened. velocache.net is now a fully operational battle station. Prepare yourselves.

Before I digress, which I am known to do, let me start off by giving some credit and handing out some thanks. This would not have happened without you all. You know who you are. Thank you. The new site would not be in existance without Buttars, if you run into him, give him a hug and buy him a beer. HUGE thank yous to the veterans out there who have kept this afloat in times of trouble and triumph...I have personal things to say to you that will have to wait until we have a face to face.

At the pokercache party on September 19 I would really like to take a bit of all of your time and preach a little about "the game". We'll see, I will probably just get drunk and cry a lot.

SO. Go to the site. Familiarize yourself. It is different than the one we play on now but can do all of the things we do now AND MUCH MUCH MORE. You will need to create an account. It is free and always will be for players. I realize some of you have already been in and have looked around but it is time for everyone to come on board. Texting from a phone to the site works. E-mailing too. There is a great forum feature that we can all cache ourselves in as well. This site is still in beta. It is not finished so now is the time to see if we can break it.

For now, play around. Posting "real" caches is not off limits but I think it might serve us better to get really comfortable with the new toy before we go "live". Post pictures of your cats and dogs. Go to the forum and talk about bikes. Have fun.

LOVE to you all. -A. Mortician

There she is.

Unfortunately the tube config does not fit any of my bikes so will be re-cached.

Pick one up, drop one off.

  1. I was gonna say..wadda ya mean the tube does not fit your config? rolling with two canisters on a back rack looks pretty sweet and also looks like 3 more could rub back there! Then I realized you meant the INNER tube and all made sense again.

So Treker you know you have 2 really bad Star Trek freaks running this thing right now right?

  2. Did I mention what a fan of the show I am????

Actually I did like The Next Generation but I am by no means a trekee (treky?) and my moniker was not influenced by that at all.

  3. I was hoping that an engineer of your caliber had to be a fan. I dare you to get Wino started about it. I have been in the closet for years (I hid behind Star Wars) and the new film is letting me finally come out.

  4. First of all, it's Trekie (although there is some contention within the Trekkie community of the use of Trekie vs Trekker) For further info, watch the documentary 'Trekkies'. It's truly mind-blowing.

Next Generation rules, but only after the first season, when they stopped using sound stages for the alien planet scenes.

Also, Treker, I did go after this one yesterday, and didn't find it in the one place I thought it was, based on Paul's hint, but somehow I had a feeling your tenacity would bring this one into your hands.

  5. I did go out looking for it but also got a bit lucky. Not too many houses that close to the water between Glenwood and 36th, so I was going to get on at Willow lane park and head west. I missed the park turn and just followed Willow Lane until it dead-ended at the greenbelt, looked around and that was the spot.

Now that I am unemployed, I have much more time to appear tenacious on the caches.
