WE HAVE ARRIVED

Well, it has happened. velocache.net is now a fully operational battle station. Prepare yourselves.

Before I digress, which I am known to do, let me start off by giving some credit and handing out some thanks. This would not have happened without you all. You know who you are. Thank you. The new site would not be in existance without Buttars, if you run into him, give him a hug and buy him a beer. HUGE thank yous to the veterans out there who have kept this afloat in times of trouble and triumph...I have personal things to say to you that will have to wait until we have a face to face.

At the pokercache party on September 19 I would really like to take a bit of all of your time and preach a little about "the game". We'll see, I will probably just get drunk and cry a lot.

SO. Go to the site. Familiarize yourself. It is different than the one we play on now but can do all of the things we do now AND MUCH MUCH MORE. You will need to create an account. It is free and always will be for players. I realize some of you have already been in and have looked around but it is time for everyone to come on board. Texting from a phone to the site works. E-mailing too. There is a great forum feature that we can all cache ourselves in as well. This site is still in beta. It is not finished so now is the time to see if we can break it.

For now, play around. Posting "real" caches is not off limits but I think it might serve us better to get really comfortable with the new toy before we go "live". Post pictures of your cats and dogs. Go to the forum and talk about bikes. Have fun.

    Just curious?? How long did you sit on 5 canisters before you exicuted this multi-bike venture. I surely would think a rule follower of your caliber would be more inclined to re-deploy shortly after a find, instead of makeing us all wait for you and your multi-bike flaunting escipade. Find it, Stash it. Thank you

    If I am not mistaken Ms. Regotti had taken down three that morning and got the tubes back out faster than anyone ever does. Let us all be very careful about "calling people out" on this blog. It makes us all look quite petty if you ask me.

    so here is the deal....i had one over the weekend that i did not deploy due to entertaining out-of-town family, an alley cat race, and i was just too chaffed sunday to think about it!

    monday i picked up 3 more caches and put out 4. you can do the math. not all the bikes were used to deploy...some were used to pick up and then i used other bikes to deploy the same cache. i can put this a different way too because some people do not like math. i am not one of those people though. i really like math- a lot!

    bike 1: picked up #82 around 7:15AM
    bike 2: picked up #81 around 9AM
    bike 3: picked up #37 around 2PM and deployed #85 before 5PM
    bike 4: deployed #84 before 5PM
    bike 5: deployed #86 before 5PM
    bike 6: deployed #87 before 5PM

    so the 3 i picked up on monday were all deployed before 5pm that same day along with one straggler that I did have for a few days, but sometimes shit happens. hope this clears it up.

    This One is starting to haunt me. If I don't get by the am Its gone forever. I'm Going backpacking for a week so i'm sure it'll be gone by then.
