WE HAVE ARRIVED
Well, it has happened. velocache.net is now a fully operational battle station. Prepare yourselves.
Before I digress, which I am known to do, let me start off by giving some credit and handing out some thanks. This would not have happened without you all. You know who you are. Thank you. The new site would not be in existance without Buttars, if you run into him, give him a hug and buy him a beer. HUGE thank yous to the veterans out there who have kept this afloat in times of trouble and triumph...I have personal things to say to you that will have to wait until we have a face to face.
At the pokercache party on September 19 I would really like to take a bit of all of your time and preach a little about "the game". We'll see, I will probably just get drunk and cry a lot.
SO. Go to the site. Familiarize yourself. It is different than the one we play on now but can do all of the things we do now AND MUCH MUCH MORE. You will need to create an account. It is free and always will be for players. I realize some of you have already been in and have looked around but it is time for everyone to come on board. Texting from a phone to the site works. E-mailing too. There is a great forum feature that we can all cache ourselves in as well. This site is still in beta. It is not finished so now is the time to see if we can break it.
For now, play around. Posting "real" caches is not off limits but I think it might serve us better to get really comfortable with the new toy before we go "live". Post pictures of your cats and dogs. Go to the forum and talk about bikes. Have fun.
LOVE to you all. -A. Mortician

I suppose we must assume that Brew1 knows that car won't be going anywhere soon correct? Otherwise as soon as it does, that poor little velotube will be pretty quickly exposed...
ReplyDeleteStaying put. Has been there for almost two years now
ReplyDeleteOh man! a Dodge Caravan just sitting there! How can such a fine specimen just be left to the elements! THE HORROR!
ReplyDeleteI know it's terrible. Former Chrysler CEO Lee Iacoca (I think I spelled that right)would be appalled.
ReplyDeleteMy question is how a.mortician can tell it's a Dodge Caravan from the pic . . . am I missing important details? I have been staring at this for awhile.
ReplyDeleteTo answer the first question; The Dodge Caravan has been the mainstay for the transportation of dead human bodies since it's inception in the mid-eighties. I know my mini-vans. Sencondly, I will give you the hunches that I have in mind. Remember they are hunches and I would play them out if I were not working. Brew1 knows this van has been immobile for two years. I think it might be a dead (ha ha) RAM vehicle. I don't think it is by his house due to the park in the shot. I am now going to work in a mini-van.
ReplyDeleteum. I would think long and hard about following my hunch.
ReplyDeleteOK, new hunch. I am pretty sure this is pert near a greenbelt hide. I think it MUST be on Brew1's commute to work (which also may explain his two-year knowledge). You can see some buildings in the reflection of the headlight and there are buildings just past the "park" in the distance. Again, hunches, but as I am trapped here waiting for my pager to go off, I gotta play somehow...-A. Mortician
ReplyDeleteOhh, velovixen…. Of course it is a Dodge Caravan… your such a girl. Hack, hack,… that must be the male chauvinist swine flu acting up again. I guess we all don’t store such useless information, but the shape of the grill makes it either an 80’s Caravan or Dakota… but the slight angle back makes it the Caravan. I would even venture to guess it has the bad plastic ‘Woodie’ print paint pealing off the sides, a very popular upgrade amongst abandoners and discarders of worthless vehicles.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the grill says Dodge, and the photos are titled 'van cache' and Dodge only makes one van.
ReplyDeletespoil sport.
ReplyDeleteIt's most certainly a Caravan. Who's family didn't own one of those back in the day. Blackhappy, we did have the awesome wood panel upgrade on ours.
