WE HAVE ARRIVED

Well, it has happened. velocache.net is now a fully operational battle station. Prepare yourselves.

Before I digress, which I am known to do, let me start off by giving some credit and handing out some thanks. This would not have happened without you all. You know who you are. Thank you. The new site would not be in existance without Buttars, if you run into him, give him a hug and buy him a beer. HUGE thank yous to the veterans out there who have kept this afloat in times of trouble and triumph...I have personal things to say to you that will have to wait until we have a face to face.

At the pokercache party on September 19 I would really like to take a bit of all of your time and preach a little about "the game". We'll see, I will probably just get drunk and cry a lot.

SO. Go to the site. Familiarize yourself. It is different than the one we play on now but can do all of the things we do now AND MUCH MUCH MORE. You will need to create an account. It is free and always will be for players. I realize some of you have already been in and have looked around but it is time for everyone to come on board. Texting from a phone to the site works. E-mailing too. There is a great forum feature that we can all cache ourselves in as well. This site is still in beta. It is not finished so now is the time to see if we can break it.

For now, play around. Posting "real" caches is not off limits but I think it might serve us better to get really comfortable with the new toy before we go "live". Post pictures of your cats and dogs. Go to the forum and talk about bikes. Have fun.

LOVE to you all. -A. Mortician

  1. Did someone deploy this while looking for #432?

  2. That looks like the same board in the top 2 shots. Curious...

  3. yeah, the board is throwing me too.

  4. so if that IS the same board, then the cache itself is existing in two places at one time. Lemon Pepper has apparently created a rift in the time space continuum. Q is going to be pissed.

  5. I theorize that P1020221 is from the cache location, while P1020222 looks at the cache location from the spot where the bike in P1020221 is.

  6. that's not a bike, it's a time-traveling hover-cycle.

  7. me and my girlfriend were taking a walk threw albertsons park, and i spoted a board over alittle stream and got all excited... but not the right spot i guess.

  8. I see something in the pics I did not before, I may have ridden by this the other day on the way back from fruitlessly looking for #432. I'll take a ride out today after work and check it out.

  9. There is a wooden fence in the back ground of pic #1 I don't think this is near #432

  10. You can tell that it's a wooden fence? I think it is a metal fence. A fence to keep 4X4s from tearing up the hills. I also will be suprised on Friday when I get to ride, if it is still there. If it is where I think it is,it is near a party area.

  11. Well, based on the fence and the size of the stream, I took my shot. Lots of similarites but no dice. It was a place I passed on my trip back from looking for 432, not necessarily right near it.

  12. If it were a time-traveling hover-craft, I would hope I'd have found more caches right now. Alas, it's just a bike and Wino's thoughts are about the perspective shots are correct. As for the general location, I did not ride the Greenbelt on Sunday and the thought of me mtn. biking is just funny.

  14. "the thought of me mtn. biking is just funny." That would have saved me a trip this evening. Anyway, good to get out and ride.

    I'm so disappointed.

  16. A lesson to be learned here. Although this is a good cache place it needs to be hidden a little better. If I am right about the place and a redeployment happens I will be enjoying a brew on Friday!

  17. Yea, par for the course seems to be making the cache as hard to find as possible, even when you know exactly where it's supposed to be.
